Risk Management Headquarters (for COVID-19 Infection Control)
We appreciate your understanding the measures toward COVID-19. On April 27, the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare officially announced that the level of COVID-19 is reclassified from May 8 on. In accordance with the new classification, the measures of the University are changed to the following ones.
Though the duties of the limited activities and the mandatory report to the Okinawa Prefecture imposed on those tested positive are removed due to the new classification, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare(MHLW) has presented the “concept of the positive case” that should be checked. If you feel uneasy as you test positive, please consult Health Management Center (Tel: 098-895-8144).
1. Direction of Limited Activities
The campus level of the University is reduced to the 0 level. However, the University do not repeal the “Direction of the Limited Activities” in case of foreseeable spread of covid-19 in this summer.
2. Mask Use
Though mask use is based on the individuals’ decisions from May 8 on, mask use is recommended in situation such as the visit to the medical institutions and care home for the elderly.
3. Basic Measures
From May 8 on, it is recommended that basic measures like Three C’s* are taken.
*Three C’s: Closed spaces with poor ventilation, Crowded places with many people nearby, Close-contact setting such as close-range conversations.
4. Classes
Though the classes generally return to face to face class from May 8 on, there may be cases in which online classes remain under the confirmation that online class has the same effect as face to face class has.
5. Instruction of Students’ Activities Outside Campus
From May 8 on, the instruction is based on the ‘3. Basic Measure’ above.
6. Research Activities
From May 8 on, research activities are based on the ‘3. Basic Measure’ above.
7. Meeting on Campus
From May 8 on, it is recommended that online and email meeting are actively used from the perspective of business improvement and burden reduction.
8. Event, Symposium, Seminar, etc.
From May 8 on, the event, symposium, seminar, etc. are held based on the ‘3. Basic Measure’ above.
9. Official Trip
Though the campus notice as of July 5, 2022 is repealed and the handling of official trip is restored to what it had been before COVID-19 from May 8 on, the information from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT), MHLW and Immigration Services Agency should be followed.
10. Acceptance of Foreign Students and Researchers
Though the handling of the acceptance is restored to what it had been before COVID-19 from May 8 on, the information from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT), MHLW and Immigration Services Agency should be followed.
11. Staff Members’ Work
The campus notice as of July 5, 2022 is repealed and the handling of staff members’ work is restored to what it had been before COVID-19 from May 8 on.
12. Social Gathering
From May 8 on, any limitations on social gathering are removed in accordance with the repeal of the direction from Okinawa Prefecture.
